Dorinda sat on her bed, her leg bobbing up and down rapidly as her nervousness began to grow. What if he never cared in the first place? What if the rose he gave me Monday was just meant for that day and..? Dammit! Dorinda, you've been prepping yourself for this for the past four days and you can't give up now. All you have to do is go and give him the note and the flower.. Shit! The flower! She let out a frustrated scream as she stood, about ready to pull her neatly done hair out. "Screw this! I'm going now," she growled, grabbing the note and tucking it into her dress top between the material and the side of her right breast. She yanked her heels off, ditching the plan to walk, and started downstairs and out the door, yelling, "I'll be back later, Nii-sama! I have something I need to do!"
About ten minutes later, she was in town, catching her breath at the local flower shop. "A.. white rose.. please," she said in between breaths, holding five dollars in her hand. When the clerk began asking her a question about the rose, she just waved her hand. "I don't care. Just get me one now, please." Dorinda grabbed the rose and slapped the money down, quickly exiting and making it to the school within three minutes, ignoring the pain as thorns pierced her hands. Stupid thorns... Pausing outside and leaning against the wall, she took a few extra minutes to catch her breath and looked around; silence. Not the first time.. she thought, putting the stem of the rose in her mouth as she began to struggle with her heels again. She tasted the coppery taste of blood in her mouth, but once again ignored it.
Once finished with that, she took the slip of paper from her dress and began taking the thorns off of the rose by herself, walking into the school. The gym is where they're holding it.. I guess I won't have to worry about people, she reassured herself, slowing her pace a little. She sighed when she reached the lockers, staring at all of them as she wonder if Derrick even used one. "Maybe this was a waste of time after all..." she murmured, clutching the now thornless white rose in her hands with the paper wrapped around it with a rubberband. Shaking her head, she turned around and headed for the gym, wondering if he was even here in the first place. "This is.. foolish."

Yoji kept a close hand on Aileen’s and gave an encouraging smile at her every time she looked at him, she couldn’t help but feel at ease and safe around him. Derrick on the other hand was struggling to keep Jessica still since she wanted to go over to the food table having an extreme weakness for sweets. Knowing her she could inhale every piece of cat on that table and still be able to dance the night away. He sighed wrapping his arms around her waist to hold on to her only able to distract her with the suggestion of dancing. Aileen laughed at the scene and joined them on the dance floor already breaking out the moves to a fast beat song goofing off, it took so little to take so much off her mind it was amazing. “Hey Aileen, c’mere for a moment. I want to give you something…” Yoji muttered in her ear and led her back to the table sitting her down; she fiddled with her fingers nervously and watched him pull out a…red rose? Hesitantly she took it marveled at the thorn less rose’s beauty then noticed a ring tied on with a ribbon. “Yoji, what’s this?” “I don’t think we should wait until winter for our engagement to be official. I want to ask you now with my honest feelings with our father’s blessings given already. Aileen, a part of me may be doing this for the honor of my family but that’s not the reason. So will you…” Yoji moved on his knee grasping her left hand gently making Aileen’s heart sink. Before he could complete his question Derrick came rushing over sensing the moment and held out a big bowl of ice cream with Jessy right behind him. “Are you guys enjoying yourselves alright?!” Derrick said a tad loudly and sat down around the table with them while Aileen gave a silent sigh of relief. That was close…

Dorinda peeked inside before taking a step, her chocolate eyes bright and expectant to find Derrick. Scanning, scanning, scanning... but she couldn't find him. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a familiar pair-Derrick and Aileen. And Yoji? Maybe that's why Hisagi's so depressed and his old self. Aileen didn't really have any interest in him.. Her eyes then glued to the girl that Derrick was practically dragging along, at his arm that stayed around her waist. What felt like a thousand needles pierced her heart, dragging it down into the abyss of the icy cold. He really didn't care as much as the rose said, huh..? she thought, looking at the note attached to the rose. I'm so sorry..Dorinda "God I sound so pathetic.." she murmured, letting the rose drop to the floor as she turned away and out of the gym. Jerking off her heels once again that night, she tossed them away and walked aimlessly down the hall, her vision beginning to blur with tears. "Stupid emotions.. Sometimes I wish I was just.. a robot or something. Or just a nobody. That seems to work a whole lot better than being anything else. God I'm a wreck and I hate it to hell and back."

Aileen felt a certain presence her eyes peeked out the corners and blinked in shock, did she just see Do just now? Scrunching up an eyebrow Aileen tapped Derrick’s shoulder and leaned over whispering about the incident before he sprang from his seat and ran out. Jessy just let her mouth open confused then eyed the food table with evil intent. Aileen panicked remembering what happened last when she was alone with Yoji and clung to Jessica’s arm standing up with a nervous laugh. “Let’s get some snacks okay Jessy? I’m hungry as can be! Eh heh heh, we’ll be right back Yoji.” She said high-pitched then ran almost to the table on the other side of the gym hurriedly with Jessy dragged behind in her heels. I got to avoid him as long as possible or else he’ll ask me to marry him! God, I just want to go home… Aileen frowned sadly while her friend pigged out on every sweet seen on the table and growled at those who came near.
Derrick ran out in the hall almost sliding to his side. He looked around everywhere chasing up and down the halls and even adventured up the stairs but found no Dorinda. “Where are you…? Maybe Aileen really didn’t see her. I guess I was hoping too much.” He muttered loosing his faith and slowed down returning back down the stairs. Derrick stared out the doors then back to the ground and spotted a rose. Curious he picked up a note poked out and left open for him to read, his eyes widened once he finished staring back out the open doors. “Do!” He ran out not caring if he ruined his $700 tux or $300 shoes, all he wanted was to see Do before she disappeared again. “DO!!!”

Dorinda put her hands over her ears, hearing Derrick's voice as if he was right behind her or something. Stop stop stop! He's already moved on, so why can't you, Dorinda?! Why can't you! she screamed in her head, wiping at her face with the back of her blood-dotted hands. Again, she heard Derrick's voice, and this time it provoked her anger. "Shut up! Quit saying my name already!" she said between gritted teeth, turning around to look behind her. No one. But a second later, she saw that same figure that had been in the school gym holding the white rose she had dropped and forgotten. What..? she thought, staring at him in disbelief from her distance. "What are you doing, you stupid idiot?" she murmured to herself, knowing if she stood still any longer she'd be noticed without fail. Shaking her head, Dorinda leaned her body against the building beside her. I'm only fifteen and I'm chasing and getting depressed over this popular guy. What a fairy tale..

Derrick came running out passing every female who was to coming inside for Homecoming but Do was nowhere to be found among them. He ran furiously ready to give up until he heard her voice surely pointing him into a general direction which led to the outside gym walls. Nearing towards her in slow, easy steps Derrick breathed out breathless. "Do...you came? Your rose..uh, thank you. Wait- Why were you running away without giving me the note?" Derrick asked standing in front of her with a soft gentle face. Didn't think she would come but somehow I think a part of me wanted her to come...and maybe just to see her response from earlier. "Here, your eyes are going to be red and puffy if you keep that up." He handed her a handkerchief and put a thumb to her cheek wiping a tear from her face.

"I-You see.. It.." Dorinda paused, unable to say her thoughts without stuttering like crazy. She even wanted to smack herself in the face a few times to keep herself together, but it just didn't work. Her hands immediately went to his chest, grasping at his tux, as she bent her head. "I don't know.. what I'm doing anymore, Derrick. I just.. I felt really bad for how I acted Monday-I didn't have any right to talk about your family that way-and.. I didn't know you felt that way about me, with the red rose and all," she said, pausing a couple of times so she didn't bust out crying uncontrollably. "And then I saw you with that girl and I was doubting myself. So I was just going to go home..." Opening her eyes a little, she noted that the blood was still on her hands and she quickly removed them, murmuring an apology as she wiped away the beads with the handkerchief he had handed her instead of using it for her face.

It pained him to see her stumble so much through her tears, was he really that much trouble to her? Once he noticed the blood he felt a flicker of fear stab him. Derrick took a single finger from her hand and kissed the tip of it washing the pricked blood away then drew her into a hug. "You don't have to apologize ever. Love is when you never have to say sorry..." He muttered arms encircled her shoulders/forearms laying his head on top of hers. Pulling back her wiped away the rest of her tears and gave a smile, his hands slid to her shoulders squarely. "You know, you look very beautiful even if your make-up wasn't all watery from crying. Let's get you washed up or your face will be all sticky. You want to go home still? My friend inside won't mind, she's here for the food plus the cute girls and guys. Oh yeah, she's kinda bi forgot to mention that. You should had seen the look on Matt's face when I told him that. He got too excited for a teenager, it's unhealthy I tell you." Derrick grinned boyishly at the memory of his friend's reaction and let out a chuckle.

Within all of her mixed emotions, not once did she get that jittery feeling that she had always gotten when they were that close. But as she slowly came to her senses, it was ten times than the normal buttefly effect. Blushing, she stepped away, laughing a little nervously and genuinely. "Um.. yeah.. I'm going to go to the girls' bathroom and clean up. I'll be right back." Turning around, she quickly retreated to the girls' bathroom, glad it was temporarily empty. She stared at herself in the mirror, confused. Love? He can't love me.. I mean, it has to be a fling or something, right? Love is.. Love is big and mushy, a really really really strong word. Yeah, I have to be some hormonal fling for him. And if that chick hits on me, she's so dead... With the last of her thoughts flattening out, she washed up her face quickly and went back out into the hall, still oblivious to the fact she had shed her heels long ago. "I kinda wish Hisagi was here or something.. He's been really bummed for the past couple of days whenever he comes home. I feel like something really bad happened to him."

He let her go rethinking what just happened. What did I just say? L-Love?! What the hell man?! AHHH!!! Banging his head against the wall a few times before he caught hold of himself. "Better go inside real fast." Derrick went back inside straight to the table with only Yoji occupying it. "Where are the girls? Scare them off or something?" He smirked lightly taking a seat to hear his friend give a small chuckle, Yoji gave a shrug gulping down his water like a fish. "Aileen took your friend to get sugar high at the food table. They might call anime patrol on her if she keeps growling at the students. Where did you just take off to, hm?" Refusing to give an answer Derrick stood and rushed over to the food table. "I'm going to check on Jessica before she gets out of control." The redhead only smirked leaning against his fist watching him walk away. "Coward..."
Aileen left Jessy to fend for herself to visit the ladies room in hopes of buying herself some time away from Yoji. She hobbled in their the best she could in her high-heels and leaned over the sink glaring at the mirror. "This isn't going too well, if I avoid him long enough tonight then he won't ask, if he doesn't ask then the arrangement waits til winter which means I can rest easy until then. Just have to keep away tonight." She recited, Aileen looked over seeing a familiar figure down the bathroom. "Do...? What are you doing here?" Oh shit, I should be happy she came but what if she heard me talking? She doesn't know what I'm talking about so it should be fine! Yeah, yeah-fine. Whew, glad she's feeling well enough to come to Homecoming.

"I'm um.. freshening up.. What about you? You look like you're having a hard time or something," she murmured, taking a couple of steps closer to her friend. She was worried, yes, because she hadn't seen her friend react that way at all before. "You know.. if you ever have a problem, you can always come to me. That's what friends are for, you know? So don't be afraid if you need to confide in someone." She pat Aileen softly on the back, replaying her words in her mind. Avoid who? Hisagi? No, he isn't even here tonight. I think he was getting high by the time I left.. stupid asshole. He was supposed to have given that up.. She sighed inwardly, pushing her brother out of her mind so she could focus on Aileen.

Aileen gave a small smile thankful for her friend's support but felt nervous unable to think about anything else but the deed between her and Hisagi the other night. I can't honestly just tell her I slept with your brother the other night, ooops I'm sorry. I don't know how she would handle that! Oh wait...Hisagi. She put a hand n Do's shoulder for attention since she seemed to be in thought. "Where is your brother tonight anyway? I know he doesn't like to come to things like Homecoming and stuff but still..." Aileen trailed off eyes drifted away like her words, she stared down at her feet remembering earlier today. Maybe I should had said something back then. I just can't tell him that I'm getting engaged, I would just die if he knew. My feelings for him are unacceptable and against my class but still, how does he feel about me it's still unclear.
Snapping back to reality she gave a smile clapping her hands together in front of her. "I'm glad to see you're doing better. You better go out there, Derrick is like a kid-he can't stay in one place for too long so you better find him before he runs off. Oh, please don't tell anyone where I am except for Derrick-it's secret." Aileen said her hands siezed into fists at her chest and gave Do a pat on the shoulder. "I saw that rose by the way- you're allowed to tell me whatever too ya know." I want to be honest with her but I can't tell her. I don't think Do is the kind to hide things and I feel bad I'm hiding it from her...sigh, forgive me. Meanwhile Derrick was making a scene trying to drag the sugar-crazed girl from the empty food table who insisted on licking the plates for sugar crumbs.

"Uh, well he's at home.. around. I don't really know what he's doing, but he's been spending a lot of time up there and rarely coming out. But I swear he's getting skinnier or something when I do see him. And really weird. But um.. yeah.. I think he's worse than usual.." she said, trailing off. Dorinda's face grew heated when her friend mentioned the rose and she shuffled her bare feet nervously, keeping her eyes averted. "Oh, the rose. Yeah, well.. um.. er.....about that... I was.. thinking a lot while I was uh.. sick, for the past four days. And I just came to the conclusion that.. I really really really like your brother." Saying the last part of her sentence in a rush, she cleared her throat and rushed out of the bathroom, wondering how she had been able to tell anyone in the first place. My god I can't believe I said that. I thought it was a FLING! she cried in her mind, searching around for her heels. Once found, she struggled to put them on and entered the gym, brushing her hair out of her face. Once she had spotted Derrick, Dorinda stepped up to him and leaned up so she could whisper in his ear; she didn't want to risk this crazy girl hearing it. "Aileen wanted me to tell you she's just in the bathroom. Don't tell anyone else.."

Derrick gave a nod and smiled down at Dorinda, his hand held out to her offering to dance while his date somewhere was already with another girl/guy. "Want to dance? It'd be a waste if you didn't show off some of your talents on the dance floor." He said in a matter fact tone, flashing her the puppy eyes and bent over her. Thinking it over Derrick glanced down at her cock-eyed. "Did Aileen tell you anything else than her being in the bathroom by any chance?" Don't think Aileen would carelessly tell her friend she's going be engaged to Yoji but never hurts to ask. Besides, she doesn't need to know about family affairs anyway. He put the rose in his mouth thankful the thorns were taken off and held Do suggestively. "Come, dance the night away!"
Aileen dropped her back against the sink at her friend's confession. It was obvious something was happening between them but now this was happening, things were going down the crapper. Running a hand down her face she stared at the mirror thoughtfully. Okay, weird conflict here: sister likes friend's brother and friend's sister like brother. Oh god, that's a sick cycle. She turned pale at the thought and left the bathroom down the backdoors luckily with no one to block them.
he's been spending a lot of time up there and rarely coming out. But I swear he's getting skinnier or something... he's worse than usual...
I want to see him, to make sure he's alright at least. Aileen took off her heels and sprinted the best she could in her dress to Shuuhei's house. Minutes later panting heavily at her 100 meter dash she leaned against the door to catch her breath. After resting she rang the doorbell hoping his mother wasn't there or at least awake to answer the door.

Her face was consumed with heat once again and she cleared her throat, bring to mind the topics they had covered shortly. Hisagi, the rose... um.. "No, not really. Nothing really important, anyway," she said, her body relaxed in a habit when he tilted her body backward. When he mentioned dancing, she smirked. Although she had said dancing was her savior when everything else failed, it hadn't been there for her for the past week. She had been too consumed by her feelings to really pay attention to it. "Let's! Who knows, we might get to take home a big prize or something.. or at least be the envy of the school."
Hisagi made his way lazily downstairs, opening the door in one fluid movement and leaned against the doorframe. His hair was a tad unruly, his weight a few pounds lighter, but he practically remained the same as before. He stared at Aileen, tilting his head a little as he furrowed his brows, then smirked widely. "Did you know those little pink trolls follow you everywhere?" he asked out of the blue, quite obviously giving away that he was high. His right hand clutched the doorframe tighter as he began to cough a little, letting out a curse. "Shit..." Before he could keep himself standing and propped against the wall, he fell to his knees roughly, then sat completely down, only staying in the sitting position because his hand was still grasping the doorframe.
