About an hour later, a nurse appeared the front desk, then nodded her head. Heading over to Mingzhu, she put a bright smile on her face. "You must be Mingzhu, from the description I've been told. You may visit Cloud right now if you want. He may still be asleep, but he should be waking up any moment now. You can find him in room 137 on the second floor," she said. After a few seconds of studying the young girl, her smile gained a wealth of warmth. "And judging by your looks, you must be worried about his condition. I can assure you he won't die from any internal injuries or bleeding. He had a graze on his left arm, just a minor scratch. One of the bullets hit his right hip and the other went through his left shoulder, luckily damaging only tissue and a few muscles. If I may say so, you have a pretty brave and lucky friend to have taken action instead of just calling the police. Here, take this and get yourself something to eat or drink. You look like you need it, but iI could be wrong." Slipping out a couple of spare dollar bills, she gave them to Mingzhu and, with an assuring smile, left to report back to her designated schedule.
Inside of the room, Cloud stared at the ceiling with half opened eyes, his head hurting like hell and his body practically numb. Geeze..when they sedate you, I guess they really drug you up.. he thought. Glancing around the best he could, he began to wonder what time it was and if Mingzhu had returned home yet. Surely it would be well past, or around, midnight, but even he couldn't say for sure. I shouldn't have let her come. She has more important things to do, like her drawing or keeping up with school. Speaking of which..where was her drawing book when she came back? Or did she run home that fast? With a sigh, Cloud let his eyes close. Let's make a pact.. together..

Mingzhu came out the elevator searching down the hall for the room until she came to the very end reading the titled number 137. She opened the door slowly in silence and entered like a shadow not wishing to wake him if he was asleep like the nurse had said. “Cloud…?” Her voice came out like an airy whisper as she made way for his bed hands knotted with one another. A chair was offered right beside his bed she sat down staring at the ground. His aura is stronger than before so he must be okay now, can’t tell if he’s asleep though.
And judging by your looks, you must be worried about his condition.
If I may say so, you have a pretty brave and lucky friend to have taken action instead of just calling the police.
“Cloud…I’m glad you’re alright. I was scared that I might lose you honestly even when everyone assured me you’d be okay. You’re really something you know that? Saving that girl…I admire you for that. You’re a good person regardless how much trouble you get in or what others say. When I’m around you I get this feeling…I can relax and no matter what things will turn out alright- thank you.” Mingzhu untied her hair from its ponytail letting it cover her shoulders with silky strands of crescent blue, she laid out on his bed eyes half-way open overwhelmed with weariness again. She laid a hand on top of his smiling to herself glad she could feel his warmth return.

For several minutes, Cloud only heard the restless ticking of the clock. Even in such an open room, he felt suffocated, alone, like he was when he first lost his parents. He had requested before the surgery that the lights stay off after he was transferred, but now he was regretting it. I'm going to go insane in a hospital. That's just grand, really it is.. he thought. He then heard the sound of the door open and Mingzhu's voice reached him. Cloud wanted to open his eyes and talk to her, but he felt exhausted and thought better of it. I should sleep.. Nothing comes out of talking much anyway.. Plus she might hit me again.. Willing himself to go to sleep, he began to drift off, but his mind was taken away from his goal when he heard his newfound friend speak again. With a smirk, and with the best he could, he moved his hand so he was holding onto her own, saving his words for when he wasn't so exhausted from the drugs.

It was about 4 in the morning by the time Mingzhu woke up from her slumber. Her crimson eyes blinked away the heaviness before become alert and aware of her surroundings everything slowly coming back to her. She looked up to find Cloud’s hand now entwine with hers still asleep from the looks of it. “What time is it? I fell asleep again, great... You’re looking better today Cloud.” Mingzhu smiled sitting beside him on the bed staring down at his face. I like this…being like this with him. I have this odd feeling like I’ve been like this before… with him. “I wonder why the nurse let me stay so late… I guess she didn’t mind I fell asleep here.” She ran a finger over his hair to brush them away from his eyes down his cheeks staring at his lips again remembering yesterday afternoon. They’re so captivating… It’s unfair he did that to me yesterday, now I can’t forget him. I should get going soon, I can’t do anything for him right now. Mingzhu let go of his hand and stood up quietly careful not to make a sound to wake him.

Cloud glanced around the bright, sunny clearing, seeing a small house in the far distance and a few trees scattered about. Not far from the house was a small pond, sparkling from the sunlight, and capable of being seen clearly even from his distance. "What is this place..?" he murmured, taking a few steps forward. He jumped back quickly when shadows appeared, snapping at him once, then returned to whereever they had appeared from. "What the hell?! This has to be some crazy dream. I bet it's those damn drugs they put me on. What do they have in it, weed?"
"This is your conscious, your being, you memories.. It is your will and power, the faith of what's in you and the doubt that surrounds you. It is your fear and your beliefs. It is simply.. you." Cloud whirled around to face a woman of fair skin, her eyes closed to hide the color, and her hair, identical to the shade of eyes that Cloud has, flowed around her face like silk. Snow white wings, seemingly too small for her lithe body, held her afloat in the air, and he could faintly see a light ring resembling a halo above her head. "You know yourself, do you not, Cloud Strife? It would be a waste for you to live but not to know who you are."
"Who the hell are you!?" he bursted out, stumbling backward. Yet when he did, the same shadows lashed out and engulfed him, not giving him a second chance to stand. At once, he began struggling, uncaring of who she was, and reached out his hand in desperation. Light soon followed as she lightly gripped his hand without fault or struggle, pulling him away from the shadows. That was when he caught the glimpse of sky blue eyes.
"There is no time for introductions, dear Cloud. You are losing yourself and you do not know it as of yet. You are losing who you were and who you are, what you are to become, and what people need you to be. You fate is faltering, from day one when you stepped foot back onto your homeland. Do not lose this chance to fulfill what you wish to become. Remember everything, everyone, and every memory, and cherish it." Confused, Cloud let go of her hand and stood there, watching as she began to disappear. A faint and grim smirk appeared on the girl's face, and Cloud took a step back, this time losing sight completely to the shadows.
Snapping his eyes open, he glanced around. The first thing he didn't feel was Mingzhu's hand nor her warmth. But when he relaxed himself enough to spot her heading toward the door, thanks to the glow of the moon filtering through the blinds, he sat up, uncaring of the sudden pain throughout his body. "H-hey. Where are you going? Were you here all night?" he asked, his voice scratchy from lack of use. He didn't even remember when he had fallen asleep, nor the dream that he had just had. Only that he was freaked out at that moment. Clenching his hands together into the sheet, he swallowed. "You should... You should go home and get some sleep if you've been here all night. I didn't know you cared that much."

Swiftly she turned to face him once his voice was heard. “I was just going…I didn’t think you would want me to over-crowed you once you woke up since I was with you last night.” Mingzhu replied she felt her heart flutter at the sight of him awake a smile lifted up. She walked over a hand placed on his hand leaning down on him smirking. “Of course I care, you’re my favorite abuse victim as you put it earlier aren’t you? I’m in no rush to go home anyway- it’s dark out and I prefer to wait until there’s light so it’s safer considering everything from last night. I hope you don’t mind my company for a little bit longer since now you’re awake.” Mingzhu blushed innocently removing her hand from his and sat back down beside him. “How are you feeling now?”

A bit of heat creeped up into his face, but he scowled and leaned back. "Well, you're overcrowding me now! Why do you have to be so close all the sudden? I'm a sick and recovering patient here!" he complained. "Plus I feel fine. No pain whatsoever! Though I really hate those drugs they put into ya. It really knocks the feeling out of your body for a while..." Cloud took the liberty to lay down, his every growing comfort making him relaxed, despite the lie of pain. He flashed an innocent grin, icy eyes sparkling. "I guess Homecoming is off the list, huh? Damn..." Cloud sighed, wishing to put his hands behind his head, but his left arm was hurting enough as it was. I must of gotten hit there. I knew it was grazed, but it hurts a lot more than just that. And so does my right side. Jesus, that prick is lucky he's going to jail or whatever now instead of getting shot fifty times in the head. Stupid...

At the mention of Homecoming Mingzhu blushed and turned her head trying to act indifferent. “You’re not sick, you big baby. You’re just injured now shut up and rest. And like I care about that- I wasn’t planning to go anyway even before you asked me. I don’t do well with large crowds…” It’s too much for me, seeing so many auras and sights with so many people crowed in one gym. It would be enough to break me in two. She thought then caught the sharp wave of his aura, her lips twitched in a silent smirk. No pain huh? “Would you stop fidgeting around? You’re still in pain obviously; it shows in your eyes your most expressional feature. I’m not that slow ya know. Do you want some water or something? You’ve been out for a few hours so I thought you might be hungry maybe. The nurse gave me some money for the vending machines down the hall.” Mingzhu offered with a small smile glad to see him recovering so well after so much worrying.

Cloud's eyes flashed at Ming. "I swear, there is no-" He paused in mid-sit-up, grimacing as sweat beaded his forehead. Clearing his throat, he laid back down, disgruntled at his own body. "Okay, so there's little pain..." he murmured, keeping his eyes from looking at her if they were so obvious. Yet he began to sulk about her decision for the Homcoming. I'm not sulking, I'm.... I'm in really deep thought, he corrected himself, yet still disappointed in his failure at luring her in his trap. She was exceptionally different than any other girl he ran into on 'accident,' but maybe that's why he was trying so hard to... what? What was he really going for with her anyway? He'd already tried and been shot down, so what's more to it than that? Nothing, but there's something...

“Idiot, careful or you’ll hurt yourself even more. Here… Ya know You’re really are deceiving. When we first met I thought you would be some smooth talker heartthrob or something. You’re nothing like that, I don’t mean to sound insulting- what I mean is you’re a real nice descent guy when you look over the rough spots.” Mingzhu complimented helping him settle back down her arms outstretched over him. As she looked down she sensed a sudden change in his mood, her eyes sent him an arch-brow glance confusedly. “What’s the matter? You got silent all the sudden, very much unlike you Cloud.” She smirked her arms crossed on her chest.

Cloud looked over at her, an eyebrow arched as if he was confused. "Quiet? It didn't seem quiet. Maybe it's just you. And I was in really deep thought, that's all," he said with a shrug. Putting his good right hand under his head and slightly rubbing his stomach with his left one, Cloud stared at Mingzhu for a moment. "Hey, have you ever been in a relationship? Or been kissed? I mean like, a real kiss with someone you like or something, not one of those small.....er.. Small ones." He finished with a shrug, unable to come up with a specific word for the smaller, less meaningful kisses, but he was curious as to what Mingzhu was about. Surely he still remembered what she had said earlier when she first arrived in the room. That just made him feel better that he wasn't a complete failure now.
(such egoism. XP)

Mingzhu’s cheeks flushed at the question keeping her eyes off Cloud. Okay, so I haven’t really kissed a guy or had a boyfriend. Not that big of a deal- being friends is as far as I go with a lot of guys. Yesterday outside the school garden…that’s the closet I’ve been to a guy. Stupid jerk! Why did he have to be so close? She cleared her throat taking a small peek at him. “W-Why are you asking? I don’t see how it’s any of your business or why it would be interesting to you at all. Are you just poking fun at me?” Her eyes stared at him flatly giving a small pout; she sat cross-legged on his bed leaving her back to him seconds later. Why am I so nervous all the sudden? This isn’t exactly my ideal conversation I want to have 4 in the morning! Stupid heart, calm down!

Cloud felt a smirk appear on his face and didn't fight it away. "Oh, no particular reason. I was just curious, that's all," he replied in a naturally innocent voice. Judging from her reaction, he could tell that she must have done something major she was embarrassed about, she was too shy to tell, or she had never had a relationship with anyone quite yet. He wasn't going to make accusations right off the bat, but instead, he'll weasle his way into her and try to find out more about her as time progresses. Glancing at her backside, he let out a puff of breath and poked her in the side. "So.. about that food.. Something nice and sweet! Ooh! Wait, do they sell pocky here? That stuff is great. I tried it in one of my previous homes and it turned out to be one of my favorite snacks of all time. I like the strawberry ones the most, though, but any will do." Cloud was staring at the window again, just because it drew his attention so much due to the darkness of the room. Hopefully they have pocky. I have a craving for it.. he thought, his stomach rumbling in agreement with his hopes.

“Ah! Don’t poke me like that! Cloud-” She turned halfway to find his eyes diverted to the window instead meeting hers. He has the attention span of a dog. Does act this familiar with all the girls he meets? I bet…jerk. “I doubt they have pocky available in a hospital. That’s not a popular snack nor healthy in a place like this but I can try to get you something nice and sweet as you put it. What will it be princess?” Mingzhu huffed out and moved off the bed over to the window opening the curtains a little more, she looked back at him brows arched curiously. “Your stomach is making me think of that Alien movie like it’s ready to rip open. Aren’t you the entertaining one.” Her lips smoothed into a playful smirk staring out the window seeing the clouds slowly lighten in blue and gray hinting the sun’s arrival soon.

Cloud's features dropped at the news that there was a high probability that there was no pocky. "Well that's gay... If I could throw a tantrum withot hurting myself, I probably would..." he murmured, glowering at nothing in particular. "And I'm not a princess! Does it look like I'm d-er... um.. a girl?" He refrained himself from saying his usual vocabulary, not because it was true or vulgar, but because he didn't want Ming to freak out or something. Plus, I dont' see why they'd have pop and chips and all that crap and not have pocky. Stupid morons. "And you are so getting it when I can get out of bed without hurting myself. Nobody calls me princess and gets away from it And no, that's not a threat, I couldn't threaten someone like you. It's more like a promise." He looked at her with glittering icy eyes, a grin spread on his face, making himself comfortable yet again with a hand behind his head and one on his stomach, his ankles crossed. Maybe being in the hospital wouldn't be so bad.
