“Bothersome hair, I should cut it again- it’s always going in my eyes.” She proclaimed frustrated with the strands that whisked against her face and swayed in the breeze behind her. She glanced back the opposite direction with him already gone on is way. Don’t get in too much trouble Cloud. Mingzhu stopped under a light post to open her sketchbook on a specific page, Cloud’s sketch. Her crimson orbs scanned the detail wishing it were the real him for a split second before slapping it shut cheeks heated. “Stupid… I really need to get home before dark though. Creeps always come out at night.” She muttered feeling her blood run cold like ice water, an ominous feeling overwhelm her senses suddenly. Mingzhu clasped a hand over her chest where her heart began to pound violently ready to explode in fear. What is this feeling I have? Something’s going to happen, something horrible- I just know it. But- A tremor ran through her body shivering until everything eased into nothing, cold sweat beaded on her body as if she awoken from a nightmare without memory of it. “What was that? Another flash? God, this is too weird for me today. I’m going home!” She growled storming up the side-walk a world away in her thoughts again.

Cloud had seated himself on a bench further into the woods, staring down at the necklace he had in his hand. He couldn't get the flashing image Mingzhu out of his head, knowing that her and the little girl had so much in common with looks, although their attitudes were completely apart from each other. Had she possibly been right? What if he was just having a weird psychological appearance of dreams that just wouldn't leave him alone? Perhaps... but I can't help but doubt that reasoning... But everything leads up to it, it has to. I can't be going crazy at a time like this..! I'm only eighteen for fuck's sake! he growled in his mind, fingers closing over the lionhead medallion with the engraving on the back.
Suddenly, a shot sounded through the silence, then another, causing Cloud to look up sharply and listen closely. Once more it sounded and he gritted his teeth-it was coming from the direction he had walked from and he was sure he'd heard a girl scream. Quickly, he leaped to his feet and raced back toward the clearing, but stopped at the oak tree instead of going any farther. Slowly and silently, his hand went beneath the cloth covering his right leg, his fingers grasping the butt of a gun while his eyes surveyed the area. Nothing? That can't be right... It's too quiet now.. he thought, remembering the short period of time when he had had a foster father who worked for the police. Just when he was about to relax, he heard a slight ruffle toward his right, behind the bench in the brush, and automatically cocked his gun and stepped out, the gun pointed straight at the area that tipped the person off.
"All right, you just gave yourself away, so why don't you just come out nicely and let go of the girl," he said clearly and unmovingly. Sure, his stomach was twisting in knots right now, but he wasn't going to let the criminal know that. Without warning, a girl was pushed through the trees and she stumbled slightly before running over to Cloud. Yet before she could reach him, three bullets flew by her. He felt one graze his left arm, but was unknowing to the other two bullets as his adrenaline started going. Quickly pulling the girl behind him, he began shooting, keeping his aim low so he would only target a leg. The result was a cry of pain and a body collapsing. "Stay right here, don't run off. Whatever you do, don't run off." Without a second to waste, he moved forward and leaped over the bench, becoming slightly aware of a dull pain in his right side. Reaching the man, he stepped on the hand that held the gun until it was released and picked it up, pocketed it, then began dragging the writhing man into the clearing. "Move again and you'll get one in a worse place than your leg."
Moving over to the girl, Cloud inspected the girl and was glad nothing was wrong. "Don't worry. I'll contact the police and you'll go home safely. You can go ahead and call me Cloud. What's your name?" he asked the girl, offering her a smile in order to make her feel better. With tears in her eyes, the girl nodded and wiped at her face.
"Lilah Sunday. I'm so glad you were here because I thought he was going to.. to.." She paused, about to burst into tears, but Cloud rested a reassuring hand on her shoulder as he got through to the police.
"Hello? I need an ambulance and someone from the police to come to the park. I have a Lilah Sunday who was being assaulted by a man. We're at the lake, next to the large oak tree," he said, glancing at the man to be sure he wasn't doing anything stupid. "Yeah, he's here. I shot him in the leg, a charge of self defense because shot first. Yeah. All right, thanks." Closing his phone, he barely registered that he was feeling slightly dizzy.
"M-mr. Cloud? Hey, w-what's wrong? Oh my god!" The girl tried to help him to the ground as he began to lose his strength, his hand automatically going to his right side. Shit.. I guess he did hit me. Fucking rapist bitch, I shoulda killed you.. he thought, keeping himself conscious until the ambulance and police came.

It was only a few minutes since they last saw one another, Cloud and Mingzhu. She had main it to the main sidewalk out in the open road near the park watching a crowed grow heavier and traffic begin its rush hour. “Can’t believe how late it’s gotten. I didn’t keep track of time because I was with him, poor Ying must be starving. Uh-“ An ambulance came speeding down the road catching Mingzhu’s attention, the siren blaring wildly along with its bright lights of warning. That feeling earlier…it’s coming back. What’s the matter though? Wait, Cloud?! His aura is weak…don’t tell me… Dropping her sketchbook Mingzhu went running back to the park following hot on the ambulance’s trail. “Cloud?! Cloud!!!” Only the thundering beat of her heart gave her comfort in the vacant silence searching through the park until she came to find the lights had finally parked somewhere- the big Oak tree. Mingzhu gave chase again and found the ambulance taking out a stretcher out over a figure laying on the sidewalk with a girl hovering over him. Following his aura she went over to the figure on the ground and knelt down to him seeing blood flow on the sidewalk. “Cloud…? Cloud, c’mon wake up. This isn’t funny you idiot, wake up. Cloud!”

The girl that was with Cloud kept back, her hands to her mouth. "Are you his girlfriend? I'm so sorry, it's all my fault! If I'd been more careful.. No one would have gotten hurt," she choked out, tears flowing down her face once again. Behind her, the police was already hauling the man to his feet and dragging him to the car in cuffs, lecturing him like any other criminal. Cloud on the other hand, was still unconscious for a few minutes longer, slightly fighting through the black folds to see where he was. Jesus my back hurts.. and my side.. and my arm. What the hell happened? he thought, forcing his eyes open. Surprisingly, he saw Mingzhu there, all worried and whatnot.
"H-hey, what the hell are you doing here for? Weren't you going home or something?" he managed to say aloud, confused. His gaze then caught on to the girl he had saved only moments before, the scenerio rushing back to him. "Holy shit, that guy shot me! And he hit! Next time I see that bastard, he is so dead!" Cloud, forgetting about his pain, started to sit up, but stopped midway with an arm braced around his stomach so his hand covered his side. "Er.. yeah.. when I get better, I'm sure.. Now, what are you doing here again?" he questioned, returning his eyes back to Mingzhu.

“G-G-Girlfriend?! To him?! No! It’s not like that! Honestly!” She stammered blushing like a tomato and waved her hands in defense. A vein popped on her head when he questioned her a second later. What the hell! He’s the one who’s shot and he’s asking me questions?! Not like I can exactly tell him about aura seeing and stuff- God, a normal guy would be moaning in pain and self-pitying! Grrr! She breathed out a staggering breath after she calmed down Mingzhu looked at him directly in his eyes. “I heard the ambulance and I was worried so I…kinda ya know…followed.” Mingzhu’s words trailed off looking at the ground then back him worried again; she placed a hand on his cheek examining his face then back down his chest. “Is the gun wound bad? C’mon, let’s get you on the stretcher before you bleed to death Cloud. I told you to stay out of trouble and here I find you only 16 minutes later with a bullet in you!” She muttered as ambulance drivers surrounded him and lifted him up carefully up on the stretcher.

Well, she was right. Any normal guy would be moaning and whining, and he honestly wanted to, but.. well, he didn't want to. Instead, he began laughing at her outburst, and even moreso at her sudden worry for him. "Actually, there's two. He shot three bullets, but I don't know-hey! Watch it, that hurts!" he growled, flashing his icy orbs to one of the men. God, and they're supposed to help the helpless, he thought, gritting his teeth. "And I wonder when you became so worried. If I really do live through this, which.. in any case, I might not.. because I have a feeling you might wanna kill me. And here I was going to get into some other trouble so I can leave this worthless dump, but I ended up doing something good.. God I hate destiny when it does this to me.." He glanced at Mingzhu again, smirking. And I bet any normal girl who worried about someone would probably be crying about now.. but I don't see that happening. If she really is that girl, she grew tough.

A tear slid down her cheek, sending a hand upside his head in a violent smack. “Don’t do that! Don’t talk as if you might die, I won’t allow it you idiot! I told you not to get in trouble but no- you just had to do something reckless. You actually made me worry but if you’re fine enough to tease me like that then…” Mingzhu shot him an angry glare and folded her arms under her breasts fuming, she was too angry to come up with any reasonable lecture to go at him with. “Miss, we are allowed one person in the vehicle but which of you ladies is going with the patient? We need to leave now before his condition becomes critical.” She turned to the blonde lips parted unsure to reject her from being with her savior. I don’t know what happened but from what she said I don’t think I should deny her the role of being with Cloud… He’d done something heroic, heroic but stupid I might add, and she might want to thank him. But I really want to stay with him right now… “Cloud? Do you care really which one of us it is that comes with you? We really need to get you to the hospital so I don’t want to cause any trouble.” Mingzhu stood over his stretcher a hand on top of his in upmost concern.

While she was lamenting her thoughts, Cloud was making sure he wasn't going to get a concussion, rubbing at his head with his uninjured arm. Not even paying attention to Ming's question, he turned and signaled one of the police officers. "Hey, could you get Lilah back home? She doesn't need to spend any time with me in the hospital and what she needs right now is her family or something." With a nod, the officer stepped away, Cloud's gaze following until he was safely guiding the girl to the car. He could tell she was thanking him just by the way she kept looking at him. With a smile, he sighed, but regretted disposing of the air in such a rush due to the fact it made him dizzy. Geeze.. that guy really got me, huh.. he thought, wondering where the third bullet went. Turning his attention back to Ming, he grinned. "And since when did the almighty abuser of poor innocent Cloud become so worried about her victim? And I don't recall you telling me to be careful."

Following the stretcher to the ambulance she glared down at him. “How can I not be worried when you’re being carried off to the hospital with bullets in you, idiot! What did you think I was going to act when I see you like this? I’m coming with you to the hospital, I’ll inform your family and take care of the details. You might be staying there overnight, I would try to cheer you up by staying you’ll miss school tomorrow but its Friday.” Mingzhu hopped in the vehicle and sat on the padded steel seat careful not to touch any the equipment as Cloud was carried inside. Why am I staying with him? They can handle him- oh well; it wouldn’t feel right if I left him when he’s in this condition. Stupid Cloud just had to play the hero. Poor Ying, I can’t give him a walk or dinner tonight it seems. “Um, is he going to be okay? Are there any pain killers or something you can give him?” She asked one of the guys coming inside after loading Cloud inside.

"Heh, no need to inform them. They already know I'm a troublemaker, so they were expecting something of the sort sooner or later... Even when I first got here a couple of days ago.." he said with a smirk. He then shook his head when she mentioned pain killers-how would she know if it hurt or not? But he had to admit, she was right; his body did hurt, but he couldn't pinpoint the areas where the bullet (or bullets) went into. "That's not needed. I don't need to be drugged to hell and back because of a couple of bullets. Just.. get me to the hospital so we can get this surgery and crap over with so I can-Shit! Hey, they better take care of my baby! If I go back home and find even one scratch on it, they are so getting sued for damaging my property!" As he began to shout about his treasured motorcycle, he sat up, but only to be pushed down lightly by his shoulder, laying down a few words about his condition.
"He'll be okay as long as he doesn't move around too much. I'm sure the police will be caring with your vehicle and return it safely. I assure you that you don't want to damage anything else at this rate, which could make this situation fatal," informed the man. Cloud only rolled his eyes with a scowl, his patience always running as thin as paper when it came to authoritive adults. Whatever, old man, but don't think I don't know anything about injuries. I've seen enough as it is, and much worse, he snapped inside his mind.

A vein popped on her head giving Cloud a look of disbelief. He’s more worried about his motorcycle when his life is in danger?! DUMBASS!!! She thought her face buried in hand, slitting her fingers into half to peak through at him. Mingzhu couldn’t help feeling a little relieved to seem him so lively even after all that happened to him. He’s really a tough one. It's kinda admirable... She slapped his leg after his outburst as he was pushed back down. “Your bike will be just fine you big baby! Try to relax some, okay? You’re worrying me to death here, I’m afraid you’ll bleed to death or something before we even get there if you keep this up.” Mingzhu admitted her glare softened and removed her hands from his leg once she calmed.

Cloud's words ceased as soon as her hand made contact with his leg. Shocking pain elapsed through his torso and he opened his mouth. "Owww..." he half mouthed, half whispered, looking at her. "Yeah, okay, whatever. You didn't have to cause any more pain than there already is! What are you, mad?!" Crossing his arms over his chest, he ignored the light-headedness that appeared again and stared at the ceiling of the ambulance, subdueing to Mingzhu's request. She could at least be gentler. This is so messed up and crazy and it's just plain stupid how I have to suffer when I did something out of my way for once. But do I get rewarded? Noooo! I get hit by one, possibly two, stupid bullets and now I'm being rushed to the hospital by my abuser! UGH! So.. uncool..

“Yes I’m mad! You are a complete idiot, a heroic one…but still an idiot. I mean, weren’t you afraid when that guy pulled out his gun? If that were me I’m not sure if- never mind. I can’t believe I’m babbling off on you when you’re hurt, sorry about that Cloud…. Tonight I’m going to stay with you to make sure you’re alright.” Mingzhu assured a hand brushed back his hair and smirked down at him as they came around the hospital emergency lane. She moved aside letting them pull him out, seconds later she rushed after them out. God, I hope everything goes okay. That feeling earlier must had been about this- if I was there…I could had prevented this. This power is so worthless if I can’t even protect others. “Miss, you’re going have to stay in the waiting room while we take him to the doctors.” Mingzhu stopped in her tracks without realizing she followed them into the hall a squad of nurses and doctors surrounding Cloud’s stretcher. “Oh…I understand. Please take care of him. That idiot has someone waiting for him.”

Cloud was glaring at the men as they took him out of the ambulance, daring them to jar the stretcher like they had earlier when loading him into the oversized vehicle. Moments later in the hospital, he couldn't help but grin at the younger nurses, but his patience soon wore thing.. or let's just say, withing three seconds of being seperated from Mingzhu. "H-hey! Quick poking me, damn you! I'm not dead yet, you know!!" he hissed at them as they disappeared through the doors. This is gonna be a long, long night... If only Mingzhu was here, though. I have to admit, she's one of those people that give off one of those comforting vibes... he thought as they went to work, putting him onto a surgery table to examine his body to pinpoint the bullet wounds. A few hours later, Cloud was in a sedated sleep and being taken care of since the surgery was over. A doctor appeared out of the room, heading straight for the front desk to talk to the nurse sitting there.

“Hey! Whatcha doing? I told you to meet me at the base and I waited forever!” The shadow figure that sat at the windowsill said, the crystal glass windows were opened outward letting the sunlight flood inside the library room. Mingzhu looked up from her studies to the figure wearing a grim face. “Auntie says I have to finish my work by tea time or else I’m in trouble. I can’t go out today- I told you that too yesterday after we got caught by the gardener! You’ll get us in trouble again if you stay here any longer.” She whispered as she walked over to the window her arms folded on the still, her hair was braided in a painful French style but her crimson orbs still sparkled delightfully at the sight of her friend. “But you promised! C’mon, just for a little bit? Pleeeeeeeeease?” The voice pleaded with her until she submitted, Mingzhu checked the room then hopped out of the window in her robes carefully. “Okay, we got to hurry before she comes to check up on me. C’mon!” Both ran away in the courtyard until they finally collapsed lazily under a tree. “Hey _____…we’ll always be friends right? _____? ______ wake up…wake up…”“Miss, wake up. Wake up…”[/i] Mingzhu lifted her head from the couch’s armrest slowly eyes peaked open slightly, she muffled a yawn with the back of her hand coming around before realizing who had awakened her. “Ah! S-S-Sorry!” Her cheeks burned brightly not certain from embarrassment or because the doctor was Hot! He’s a total hottie; I can’t believe he caught me sleeping like this. He’s kinda young to be a doctor… what gives? “Are you a doctor? You look really young.” She asked curiously then clasped a hand over her mouth realizing how rude she must have sounded. He just laughed and sat down on the spot beside her. “No, I’m a college intern and I’m here on the night shift with a bench of others. I thought I should wake you up since you were mumbling in your sleep. You okay? You must be waiting for a family member or something to be here so late.” Mingzhu brushed back her hair nervously, straightened her posture and gripped her knees scrambling around over what to say to him. “N-No… someone I know got shot by doing something stupid but noble so I stayed. I didn’t want to regret leaving someone when they might need someone to be with them. I don’t know if they’re okay though…the nurse hasn’t told me anything yet. I must have fallen asleep waiting I guess, stupid of me.” “I see, I’m sure everything is alright. None of the doctors have mentioned anything grave about their patients tonight. Here I was about to invite you to coffee with me but the nurse should be coming out soon to tell you the news so I’ll just be going along now. I’m David, David Stroud. Just mention my name to the front desk if you need anything, alright?” David said rising from his seat ready to leave. “I’m Mingzhu Lijuan, um, thank you…” She outburst to receive a smile then watched him walk away. I just noticed…his aura is unlike anything I’ve seen. I couldn’t read him and the worse of it his handsome smile made me forget Cloud. I’m horrible; here I am turning into a drooling babbling moron while he’s under the knife. I hope he’s okay though- that nurse hasn’t said a goddamn word yet about him. Mingzhu glared at the nurse behind her desk who only chatted away on the phone with a friend on the other line obviously. Takes her job seriously I see…i37.photobucket.com/albums/e57/Dark-Sayuri/21620spiral.jpg
