“God, you’re so lucky to have that dancing class Do. I’m going have to work extra hard in Mustang’s class and at home to work off this ice cream calories later. I heard the school’s adding the dance class after fall break, you excited for it? I can have you enrolled in there if you don’t mind changing one of your classes already from 1 semester.” Aileen said to brighten the atmosphere then of course her brother had to make a comment to ruin the mood. “Hell woman, you’re going have to do more than that to work off your- don’t hurt me!” Derrick whimpered shielding with his hands from her up risen fist quaking in anger. “God, you’re such a pain in the ass at times. Why do I even bother with you?” She grumbled glaring down at her half empty cup of ice cream with guilt before tossing it to the garbage, he gave his special smile and hooked an arm around her neck nuzzling into her hair. “Because you love me? Besides, your little outbursts give me energy. If you can’t handle me how are you gonna handle Yoji in the future? He’s just as bad as me if not worse.” “Ugh, don’t remind me! I say we go to a karaoke bar or something- I’m bored as hell and I don’t want to grow an extra butt thank you by sitting on it! Roots will grow if I keep this up.” Aileen hurriedly said kicking Derrick out of the booth and stood up glancing at Do questionably.

Dorinda was off in her own little land, fairly unaware of Aileen's offer of the dance class, but she nodded to the sound of her voice anyway. It wasn't until she heard the piece about Yoji that her head jerked up, suddenly losing her appetite for her beloved mint ice cream. "W-what about Yoji in the future?" she asked aloud. Dropping her spoon, she clamped a hand over her mouth, regretting the question. It wasn't her place, but she was shocked at it. Could that mean there's something going on between them? Are they like.. going out? Maybe that's why Hisagi is getting back into his old habits, but twice as hard this time. It really.. It really got to him, because he actually opened up. Blinking, she stood and stared at her ice cream. "I.. I'm sorry. I have to go check on Hisagi and be sure that he's all right." Jetting for the door, she yanked it open with her left hand, wincing only slightly at the pain her wrist gave her, and began running down the street toward her home. Don't follow. If he's done something stupid over this, I'm going to beat his dead corpse to hell and back. Even if I am made at him.. Even if he is a dope head and deserves to go to jail.. Jesus christ, life is so messed up! she growled in her mind, holding a hand to her side lightly.

“Do!” Aileen shouted arisen from her seat to find only her friend had escaped too soon for her to be stopped. Retracting her outstretched hand back she sat back down in the booth silently by a stunned Derrick. “Why did she suddenly mention Hisagi? How is he connected to any of this I don’t understand… Maybe we should follow her, do you think? Something’s wrong here. Hey, Aileen? Aileen?” He placed a hand on her shoulder shaking gently with no result; she slapped his hand away and jumped out of the booth over him running outside. Damnit Derrick! You revealed too much too soon. She thought breaking through the crowed on the sidewalks after Do. Derrick soon came out of the ice cream parlor in chase catching up in ease, by his sister’s side he puzzled over the scene earlier. Hisagi…Aileen? They can’t be connected, it’s not possible- she knows better than to get mixed up with that kind of sort. How are they connected? Everything is a mess right now and Do…she looks like she’s at the end of her rope. "What's going on here?"

Dorinda ran down the sidewalk as fast as she could with her depleting breath. Her lungs were beginning to burn, but she wasn't going to stop when her house was just around the corner with Hisagi inside. Come on..! Hisagi, you aren't the suicidal type, even in situations like this. Don't do anything stupid! she thought, unaware of a semi backing up into a driveway ahead of her until the last minute. Without stopping, she leaped on top of the back (it has no trailor on it) and stumbled off on the other side, falling to one knee. "Watch where the fuck you're driving, asshole!" she yelled loudly before speeding off the rest of the way. Once at the door to her house, she turned the knob and it flew open, revealing her brother sitting on the couch, a needle to his arm. "What the hell are you doing?! You are not sticking that shit into your arm!" Storming toward him, she snatched the needle and threw it against the wall, shattering it with the contents dripping down the wall. "Hisagi, just because your life is suddenly taking a downfall doesn't mean you can go around fucking yourself up. You never did this before and it's pissing me off! Can't you get it through your thick skull that it isn't helping?"
Hisagi was taken aback at his sister's appearance. But the shock quickly faded and was replaced with anger and irritation. "What the hell are you doing? That shit ain't cheap, Do!" he retorted in a shout as he stood, looming over his sister. "I had to get Vix to bust an arm and a leg to get that damn stuff and look at what you did. You wasted it! Who the hell do you think you are when you try to lead my life the right way? I'm living it the way I want to. What about you Dorinda? Are you even leading yourself the right way, lying to everyone about how you feel and your thoughts on things?" As soon as Hisagi was about to go for her to get an answer out of her, a knife flashed in her hand, pointed straight at his chest.
"Come closer, Hisagi. I dare you to. I'm tired of the bullshit you're pulling on everyone. I don't think it's only me who's worried about your stupid ass, you know.." she murmured, tears clouding her eyes. It's happening. Everyone is breaking up now... Dad, Mom, now us. And everything was going so well...

Both arrived shortly after Do through the open door, Derrick was the first to react when he say the two siblings in a serious position pulling Do back. Aileen rushed over in between them arms spread out as a divider. “Do, this is not the way to handle this! Let go of the knife, c’mon- you’re smarter than this I know it. Aileen, would you-?” He gestured with a head nod over to have his sister take his place in hugging Do away from her brother. Derrick stepped up shortly to Hisagi eyes dangerous silts, he tried his best to keep his voice steady and calm his fists clenched. “You know why big brothers are born first before their sisters…? To protect them but you haven’t done a goddamn thing to help Dorinda! If you touch her again I’ll have your ass put in a drug rehab program, got that?” Sensing the seriousness in her brother and the tension growing in his fist Aileen gripped his arm back. “Derrick don’t! Don’t’ hurt him okay…? Let’s just take Do and get out of here, that’s all we can do for now. You mustn’t start any more trouble.” She commanded her eyes avoided Hisagi coldly; she went back to Do placing a hand on her arm giving a small squeeze of reassurance. I can’t…I can’t look at his face. Not when he’s like this, it’s heart breaking. “Do, please…let go of the knife and let’s talk this out. I don’t want anyone to get hurt. Please…” Aileen pleaded silently already on the verge of tears, her shoulders shivered with uprising sobs her head turned away from her friend shamefully. Is this all my fault…? That he’s like this? God, everything is crumbling down in front of us.

As soon as she felt hands on her, interfering with her and her sibling, she began to struggle. "No! This is between me and Hisagi, no one else! Why the hell did you follow me?! If I needed you help, I would have asked!" she yelled. In the midst of it all, Dorinda was acutely aware of a bedraggled cough and looked up, spotting her mother at the top of the stairs. Blinking away tears, she dropped the knife and tore away from Aileen, raced up the stairs, taking her mother's hand and leading her away as quickly as possible. "Mom, you don't need to be out here right now. It's just.. a little fight, that's all. We're talking it over with some friends.." Although her voice was shaky with doubt, her mother nodded and was obediently herded back to her room with a glass of water.
"Who was that lovely man threatening your brother, Do, dear?" she asked in an airy voice, taking a drink of her water. Wiping away the tears, Dorinda slightly blushed, then shook her head.
"Some guy at school I hang out with. He's really... He's really sweet and caring. And like you saw, he isn't afraid of putting himself in front of someone who's capable of hurting. I know Hisagi better than anyone, and that's why I can't abandon him now. Even if we are fighting like rabid dogs, I can't let him go without someone to lean on," she murmured, setting down a plate of snacks on the stand next to the bed. "Well, I'm gonna go back down. I'll see you later, Mom. Love you." With that, she exited the room and slowly went back downstairs, looking at the trio down below.
"Like hell I haven't been taking care of my sister! Who was it that made sure she had everything she felt like having after she was almost raped at the mall? Who saved her from that guy? Who's taken care of her all these years when Dad disappeared and Mom is practically on her deathbed and seen once in a blue moon? Who makes sure she can trust the people at school she wants to be friends with? I did all of that. Sure, you're a good asset to her, Derrick, but you can be a real ass when you don't know it. I love my sister to death, but it's because she gets in my business that she has these stupid tantrums," he growled, uncaring that Derrick was in such a close perimeter.
Dorinda clenched her fingers around the railing, glaring at the pair of boys. "Just stop! This is getting us no where, for christ's sake. Hisagi, I only care about what you do when you're in this state. I know you didn't mean to do what you did last night; your bipolar gets worse when you drink, so I never blamed you. I'm just worried that I'll lose you. Derrick, you can't expect to just barge into people's houses and threaten to take away their only family they have left that matters. Aileen... I need to talk to talk to you." Resting her eyes on her friend, she began walking back to her room. Glancing around and spotting the rose from Derrick in a simple vase, she picked it up and set it near the window so it would get sunlight, then took a seat on the edge of her bed.

She followed Do upstairs sending an icy glare at both of the guys then entered her room shutting the door behind her. Aileen sat on the bed beside her hands in her lap and rested deadly still not sure what to say to her friend. This isn’t how I wanted things to turn out. “What did you need to talk about Do…?” She quietly asked a finger ran over the thread design on her blanket distracting her attention from the drama around her. I have to tell her the truth, I have to tell her everything. Even about Yoji and Hisagi… Derrick watched his sister disappear up the stairs and sat down on the sofa his face buried in his hands. He wasn’t sure he could wait so long being in the same room as the bastard Hisagi. His eyes sharply glared into the ground recalling the night Aileen cried in his arms, the following morning she gave herself away to Yoji due heartbreak. Goddamn bastard is connected to her… but why him Aileen? He’s no good for you…

"Aileen, I need to know what happened the other night between you and Hisagi. Ever since then, he's just been torn up, and I swear he was crying when I found him in the kitchen. It isn't like him to get drunk and do drugs or even cry all at the same time. Usually he'd wait a couple of days before doing either drinking or smoking. I know it wasn't you, because Hisagi has this thing with blowing things out of proportion, but I.. I need to know because he won't tell me a thing these days..." she murmured, fiddling her fingers together. "I don't want him this way again because he was so happy whenever you guys hung out. He was actually talking and smiling and doing outside things. He even cut down on his bad habits. I need your help so much with him, probably now more than ever, if you can lend it." Her voice was pleading and sincere, hoping that Aileen could do something for them. But if she couldn't, Dorinda would never pressure her.
With as much tension and anger in him at that moment, Hisagi stormed into the kitchen silently, intent on fixing something to eat. Soon enough, he had medium-sized pot of spaghetti noodles boiling and the sauce already made and about to be put into the pot. "You know why big brothers are born first before their sisters…? To protect them but you haven’t done a goddamn thing to help Dorinda! If you touch her again I’ll have your ass put in a drug rehab program, got that?"
"I know you didn't mean to do what you did last night; your bipolar gets worse when you drink, so I never blamed you. I'm just worried that I'll lose you."
"Derrick don’t! Don’t hurt him okay…?"
She didn't even look at me. Maybe she really has moved on enough to be uncaring. I shouldn't have taken the opportunity when it arrived at my doorstep. It only made things.. worse, he admitted to himself, staring at the boiling noodles with a sigh. "Fuck..."

Her heart sunk with guilt and worry knowing what was about to come but she had to be honest with her friend, it was her fault things were such a mess she knew it. Aileen held her eyes shut tightly to hold tears from coming out and gripped her knees painfully. “Hisagi and I…that night when you Derrick went to the party we…we kissed and then it led to other things. I love him but clearly he only cares for me as a friend. He couldn’t even tell me that much that night of Homecoming when I came to check up on him. There’s nothing between us now though Do…I can’t help you with him. And Yoji…he’s…my betrothed, the arrangement was made last night by our parents to assure our companies new partnership. I wanted to tell you so badly…I’m sorry Do.” Aileen whispered evenly her head still hung down shamefully, she felt as if she had destroyed everything good in her life ready to give in to her despair.
Derrick watched Hisagi leave from the corner of his eye and heard the metal clutter of pots with his stomping from the kitchen.
I know you didn't mean to do what you did last night; your bipolar gets worse when you drink, so I never blamed you.
Derrick, you can't expect to just barge into people's houses and threaten to take away their only family they have left that matters.
Derrick don’t! Don’t’ hurt him okay…?
Why…? Why are they protecting him? I know he’s the one who made Aileen cry until her eyes were ready to swell and her heart was completely broken. I know he’s the one who hurt Do’s wrist…but they still protect him. Why are they protecting that fucker?! He doesn’t deserve anything from them. Nothing…not after all he’s done. He ran a hand through his hair and gave a long huffy sigh trying to calm his frustration and anger to a reasonable calm level. Even in the tighter business situation he’d never gotten like this before yet here he was ready to pound something to pieces to release his anger out. “Damnit…”

Dorinda listened to the explanation, her eyes widening at every new, secret piece of information. It wasn't that they were close, they were, or had been, something. Her hands clenched on her ankle, her eyes falling to the bed. "You really are blind, aren't you, Aileen? Even I can tell now what Hisagi's feelings are. You see, he was happy around you, just to be with you, and now I know why he'd always sneak around for the past two weeks, with that small silly smile on his face. And why he wanted you to stay that night. He's liked you from day one, I'm guessing, and it's rare to see him so.. So.. I don't know how to explain it. But, you changed him so much in that small space of time, Aileen. Although he doesn't know how to say it, you've really made a difference to him and it isn't easy for him to say things he doesn't know much about. You see... He doesn't know anything of love except me, and I'm not much," she said quietly, looking at her friend. She felt relieved when her anger didn't arise to the mention of the whole family business, but she was still disappointed. Placing one hand on Aileen's, Dorinda wiped at her own face with the other. "At first, I was regretting every trying to be your friend, but now I want to say thank you. Because you made my brother happy where no one else could have as of yet."
After a few more minutes, Hisagi was looking down at a nice pot of spaghetti, and moved it to the back burner while he turned off the one he had been using. With a sigh, he leaned his back against the counter, one hand unconsciously placed to his side. "FUCK! You stupid piece of shit stove! You're fucking lucky I don't throw you out into the damn backyard!" he growled suddenly, whipping his hand in front of him and cradling it carefully. Now, not only did he have a nasty bandaged cut on the top of his right arm, he now had a nice burn to go with it on his underarm. "Stupid ass piece of technology. Who the hell invented the thing anyway?" Scowling, he opeend the fridge and glanced at the Bacardi bottles on the bottom, a frown creasing his features. He wanted to so badly, but with the words that had been exchanged just a bit ago had gotten to him. With a sigh, he closed the door and leaned against it, sliding to the floor, and rested his forehead on his arms that were propped on his knees.

She stood from the bed her hand slid away from Do’s suddenly exhausted from everything of today. “Thanks for listening Do…it helped. I need to talk to someone else too so excuse me please. You won’t tell Derrick any of this, right?” Aileen glanced back at her friend pleadingly then left the room silently going down the stairs. Luckily her brother hadn’t noticed her coming down just yet knowing he was still trying to calm down so she slid into the kitchen. Right on cue she saw Hisagi slid down to the floor, Aileen shut the door silently behind her and walked in front of him crouched down. “Hisagi…? Hisagi, you alright? Ah, your arm’s hurt! It’s all red!” She went over to the icebox gathering ice into a kitchen towel then returned placing it on his arm. “What were you doing, idiot…” Should I tell him? I really can’t change anything now but still I want him to know… Why couldn’t things come out differently? God, this is driving me insane. “Hisagi, I…” It won’t come out. A total failure- I can’t do this. “Where’s your rite aid kit? That burn looks nasty so better get something to treat it better.”

Dorinda smiled lightly as she watched her friend disappear, keeping her promise. With a shiver down her spine, she began to feel cold and goosebumps appeared over her skin. With a mix between a sigh and a yawn, she grabbed up a thick and comfortable blanket that completely shrouded her body, not having enough spirit to change her clothes instead, and headed to her mother's room to check up on her. After making sure that she was okay with what she wanted, Dorinda retreated downstairs only to see Derrick on the couch alone. "I'm sorry.. that you had to see all that and everything today. I didn't really want you guys to know because I know Hisagi doesn't mean to hurt people. He's one of those people where the hurt hurt other people without knowing it..if you know what I mean," she murmured, taking a sit next to him and lifting her knees to her chest. "And I'm sorry for yelling at you guys. I didn't mean to, I was just mad at my brother for thinking the way he did. But thank you... for coming and helping out." Resting her head on her arms, she was feeling just as exhausted Aileen probably was, about to breech her limit for activity and emotionally. She hadn't felt like this since that one night, but she had to admit, it helped her sleep easier.
Hisagi lifted his head up only enought to peek and eye out, but when he saw that it was Aileen who was in the kitchen, his head jerked up in surprise. He was too speechless to answer at first, wondering why she was suddenly talking and taking care of him at once. "I...was cooking." His emerald eyes were still staring at her in disbelief while his stomach was doing those stupid flips like they had been just a few days ago, when everything was perfectly fine, and he knew that he never gave up the feelings he had for her. It was probably impossible. "Aileen, I... I'm... sorry," he muttered, his free hand clencing and unclenching nervously. What was he supposed to do? He wanted to do a lot of things, but most were just too reckless. Without giving the opportunity for her to leave his side, his hand had reached for her neck and pulled her forward and he crushed his mouth to hers in a desperate yet meaningful kiss. "I love you, Aileen. I'm sure of it, and I hope I'm right, because that's how I feel. That's how I really feel..."

A lop-sided smile met his lips as he looked down at his arm became Do’s headrest. “Anytime- we’re here for you Do. Can’t honestly say I like your brother that much but after I heard some bits maybe I can think of him not as a bad guy. I’m no angel either so it’s not my place to say. C’mon, let’s get you on a more comfortable cushion before you drool asleep on me.” Derrick said cradling her in his arms then lifted up bridal style to lay her down on the sofa. He sniffed the air a few times once he had settled her down. “Your couch still smells like Frebreeze from last week. What did you guys do? Have a spray battle or something?” He wondered outloud and chuckled at the mental image taking a seat on the edge of the couch by Do watching her from the opposite side. “You’re tired…get some rest. If you don’t get enough beauty sleep you’ll end up looking like the undead.”
“Hisagi… w-wha?” Aileen blushed brightly dropping the ice towel in her hands letting ice cubes scatter across the kitchen floor. Did he just say… I’m hallucinating aren’t I? But he really did say… She hovered over him lips gently touching his then rested her head on his shoulder. “Dummy…you still need to work on your moments. Injured and in a kitchen…how romantic.” She laughed hugging his neck, everything seemed to quiet down around them peacefully. “I love you too Hisagi… that’s how I always felt.” Tears began to run down her cheeks beading down warmly collapsing against him weakly. Yoji…Derrick…Do…I’m so sorry. But I can’t help it. Not when I love him this much. Aileen scooted off him wiping her eyes embarrassed all the sudden. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to do that…”

Although it felt good to be carried, she didn't have the strength to respond, not even to blush. However, when she tried to speak, it only came out slightly muffled with bare audible words. When he mentioned the Frebreeze, however, her mind wandered back to Aileen and Hisagi and she buried her face in the couch momentarily, then lifted her head. "N-no. That was before we came home, remember? Plus, I think Hisagi cracked our little game to Aileen and they ended up wreaking havoc with the sprays.." she said with a tired smile, laying her head back down. She then cuddled into her blanket, her feet immediately getting warm from both it and Derrick's body heat when he sat down. Suddenly, when he uttered his last words, she lifted her foot and kicked him in the back of the head, then pretended as if nothing had happened whatsoever with a small smirk on her face. I never look like the undead.. And if I did, I'd be a vampire!
"Don't apologize, Aileen. You didn't do anything wrong. I'm the one who should be saying sorry because I've been so stupid. Do's right; I wasn't helping anything, I was hurting everyone, and I was so blind to it. I'm worried about Dorinda when she's alone, that's why I constantly look after her, but that doesn't protect her from me. That's why.. I'm glad you and your brother are around so you can help her." His hand clasped over hers, squeezing it to reassure himself that she was really there, talking and caring for him like before. Hisagi felt, oddly, more calm now than ever, and he didn't want to lose it again. With a sigh, he glanced at his arm, half of the bandages crumbling off from the sudden heat. He was just lucky that they hadn't bursted into flames. Rolling his dull emerald eyes, he let out a puff of breath. "So much for immaculate bandaging.." he murmured, remembering how it had taken him a good half hour just to get his arm done. The cut on his cheek had quickly healed, but there was still a mark, as well as a few on his chest that have or have not healed yet. "The kit should be in the cupboard above the microwave over there. Don't ask me why, because Dorinda was the one who put it there."

“Oh you did not just kick me! I see that smirk missy! I mean, c’mon! How old are you? What a low sneaky prank…UNGUARD!” Derrick swiftly lifted a soda cushion and gently swung at her leg standing from his seat. He stood in a mock superman pose with his pillow in hand. “You may call me the Pillow Master! Wait…no…sounds too corny doesn’t it?” He smirked looking down at her and ruffled up Do’s hair into another mob mess. "But seriously, you should get some rest little one or else I'm going to smack you with a pillow again."
A muffled laugh escaped Aileen’s throat over the location of the first aid kit, she sat down by Hisagi still in good humor. “Leave it to Do to hide the first aid kit. Pssh, you suck at wrapping bandages; a martial artist knows how to do these things. Give me your arm silly… What’s with these battle wounds? Get in a fight with a cat or something?” She grinned at him wrapping around his arm tightly then tied it off carefully to the side then went to work on his burn injury. Being with him like this is enough to me. I wish I could have more time now. Aileen pouted inwardly finished with his treatment and sat there awkwardly unable to think of anything conversational. “Hisagi I…um…I missed you.” Oh great, out of thousands of things you could have said. The one spew of poetry that comes out of your mouth is that? Hurry and cover it up! “I mean- I left you hanging because of family business and been such a crybaby lately. Made me worry if you were okay and I haven’t even apologized to you so…I’m sorry about everything I’ve done.” Erm, that could had gone better.
